About Mackenzie
Mackenzie Ryan Walters is a national award-winning journalist, ghostwriter, and owner of StoryStruck Marketing. She offers book outlining workshops for aspiring memoir and nonfiction authors as well as full-service ghostwriting for aspiring nonfiction authors who lack the time or skill to craft their stories.
Mackenzie’s journalism career spanned multiple states and mediums. She covered a presidential candidate’s campaign for one of the top newspapers in the country, reported a 30-minute television documentary that took her inside NASA, and recorded radio stories for an NPR affiliate.
She co-founded and launched a live storytelling series, wrote for a national education magazine, and won recognition as a state and local newspaper reporter.
Originally from Minnesota, Mackenzie attended American University in Washington, D.C., earning a bachelor’s degree in print journalism and economics.
Mackenzie now lives in West Des Moines, Iowa, with her husband Andy, their two boys, and their dog, Maddie. She enjoys volunteering as a youth group leader, gardening, and baking bread. Connect with her here.
